John Schaffner, broker and owner of U.S. Land Office, LLC is also a Cowboy Poet and Chuckwagon Cook. He was born and raised in Ferriday,Louisiana. He learned the art of cowboyin’ from a genuine old time cowboy by the name of Carter Wailes who was born in 1882. John and his wife now reside in a log cabin near Wray, Colorado where they enjoy passing down their heritage to their nine and soon to be ten grandchildren.

For many years John Schaffner has been sharing the cowboy culture with others around the country through his original cowboy poetry as well as the old classic poems that were actually written as the West was being settled. He has his own Chuckwagon from which he serves up some of the best cowboy grub in all the west. He often can be seen performing with Michael Martin Murphey at various Cowboy Gatherings across North America. John is also an auctioneer. He is licensed to sell real estate in Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska.
